Butterflies

What makes monarchs truly remarkable is their annual migration. Every fall, millions travel up to 3,000 miles from the United States and Canada to overwintering sites in Mexico and along the California coast. Their journey spans multiple generations, making it one of nature's most extraordinary migrations.

Milkweed is the foundation of the monarch's life cycle. It is the only plant where female monarchs lay their eggs, and the only food monarch caterpillars can eat.
